Theme High School NetworkAt theme high schools, students engage in a rigorous course of study through the lens of a specific area of interest, educational philosophy, or method of instruction. High School ReformEach weekday morning, more than 13 million teenagers report to public high school classrooms across the United States (National Center for Education Statistics, 2002). Research suggests that those students' secondary educational experiences vary widely. Students work with mentors in the "real world", come to school to reflect on what they are learning on the job. Kids collaborate with their parents, teacher/advisor, and workplace mentor to develop their own personal learning plan.
